Today was a long day,
longer than we expected. We travelled for a good 10 hours and pushed to make it
to Moncton, New Brunswick.
Leaving Freeport, Maine we
headed north and wondered in the beautiful sights along the way. On the map it
looks like a small state but it seemed like a rather long drive.
One of the suspected acorns that attacked our Motorhome sounding like gun-shots! |
This guy was towing 2 beautiful Honda Trikes One for him and one for his wife! |
The New England trees are just starting to change colour. |
Northbound through Bangor, Maine! |
As we approached the
border we stopped in at the Duty Free shop and as per usual there wasn’t
anything much there to interest us so we headed to the border crossing.
Stopped at the Duty Free Shop at the Maine Border towards Canada. |
Here we go - Back into Canada! |
We had
to stop there for a bit to pay the GST (tax) on the motorhome tires we had
purchased in New Hampshire.
I must say it was a
nice drive to Moncton. The highway was beautiful as were the sights. The only
negative part is that we are now on such a tight schedule having spent too long
getting here.
After driving by the Bay of Fundy we commented on how that will
be a must do on the way back. The Bay of Fundy has the largest tidal change in
the world! I can’t remember how many feet difference between low and high tide
but it is significant.
We pulled into
Moncton about 11pm local time. It’s another hour here on the clock as we
switched to Atlantic Time. This is our 4th Time Zone since leaving home!
As per our normal course we found a Wal-Mart to camp
in and when we arrived there were six other rigs camped here too! Immediately
after grabbing a bite to eat we hit the sheets and fell asleep instantly only
to wake up late again at 930 am. We sure do sleep well on the new mattress that
we bought last year in Phoenix!
