February 12, 2020.
Right now, this is where my heart is - Mexico!
If it can be near the ocean, near the sand and in decently warm weather - then it’s got my attention!
This place has all those boxes checked!
Tomorrow will be the anniversary of our arrival here in Todos Santos so we’ve been here one week already. The days are going by fast even though we have been taking it slow. Slowing down to the Mexico Speed can be challenging but I think it’s much easier when one retires like us. We seemed to acclimate that way rather quickly! Maybe it’s because we usually operate at this speed no matter the time of year or where we are at.
The weather over the last week has been much better than back at home this time of year but it’s not hot. I would say most of the time it’s been rather on the cool side. Some days have been breezy (today again) others have been a bit better. Yesterday was one of those days, it got up to 25C so it was warm but the breeze made it seem cooler at times.
Now I don’t want anyone to think I’m complaining, I’m not. Refer to the second sentence above.
In no way can I complain here, at least not now because it’s not raining! It’s not snowing either!
Due to the fact we have both been fighting bad colds (still) we have been spending a bunch of time around home... so here’s some pictures of that for now.
Driving up, that’s our place on the right side.

A little closer and you can see the name on the post “Media Luna.”
That’s about the only thing there is for an address out here.
One has to be prepared some days as anything can pop out!
The view of our back yard
Our front yard
Desert sunsets are always some of the best sunsets!
Add in a little ocean for a background and it gets even better...
The patio is quiet and relaxing.
As we are only here in Todos Santos (The Saints) for 3 weeks we hope that week #2 will be better.
At least we have been able to relax and enjoy the local scenery!
LOCAL EATERIES
Now, if you know us then you know we like two things. One is food and the other is eating out.
In fact, after we started travelling these longer trips back in 2010 our grocery budget has dwindled to near nothing. However the “eating out” portion of the budget is probably higher than most mortgage payments and that’s just when we are living back at home! LOL!
Chill and Grill
(Lots of local Ex-Pats come here).
Several Mascots live here..
A very friendly Rabbit, 5 large turtles and an Iguana!
La Esquina (The Corner)
Has quickly become our local favourite.
Great pancakes and burgers too!
Cheers - Top notch Veggy Juices added to every meal here!
THE GROCERY RUN!
Yesterday we drove the car down the highway about 45-50 minutes to Cabo San Lucas.
First stop was Costco. It’s always like being at one of these stores back home right down to the Hot Dog Stand! Unfortunately this time we really noticed that prices here for most things seemed to be cheaper back home. So much for affordable Mexico! Anything imported from America was certainly more expensive- Buyer be ware!
Second stop was at Wal-Mart where we bought most of our needs. The secret to saving money here is to buy local which we should always try to do anyhow whether at home or abroad!
A couple hours later we were back home in Todos Santos having some excellent/authentic Burritos at a small restaurant that we were referred to - Hmmm!
THE RENOVATION
I don’t have a lot of pictures.
The Reno back home is going very well.
They’ve got a ton of work completed and we are waiting for the custom kitchen cabinets to get finished and then delivered in a few more weeks.
We won’t recognize the place when we get home!
All thanks to our Son in Law Neal!
Adios for now!
