Balandra Beach, La Paz - 2020-02-21

Somehow, somewhere Barb heard about this beach. Then we found out our daughter Hailey had been here once too. Well, we better check it out... Balandra Beach here we come...

La Paz is a fairly big city about an hour from where we are staying at Todos Santos.
Of interest La Paz is also the capital city of this southern (sur) state. (Baja California, Sur).
This beach is about another 30 minutes around the bay and outside the city of La Paz.

La Paz is situated on the east coast meaning it’s on the Sea of Cortez.
It’s an important Port with ships and even Ferries over to the main land.
The ferry takes about 8 hours.

The only thing missing.... was.... 💧 water.
The tide was out.

That made it even more interesting.
This beach is known for the fact you can walk out forever and the water stays shallow.
Where there is water it looks like the Caribbean with all the water’s colours.

It was fairly busy and almost everyone was a local. No Gringos.

On the map, the red dot is Todos Santos where we are staying.
Straight north at the yellow star is La Paz.
The blue dot is the beach we are at.

The water was warm, like a bathtub.

People surf the sand dunes back there.

The Malecón (Boardwalk) in La Paz

Lots of traffic

“Six” (and Oxxo) is a chain of corner stores like 7-11 or Mac’s in Canada

The Honda is getting dusty, hasn’t been washed since St. George, Utah

Rounding off another great day at one of our favourites
“Chill and Grill”

I should have taken pictures of dinner.
I had the best BBQ Rib dinner with Baked Potato and all the fixings.
Just like back at home and better than most...
We Love You Mexico.
Good Night
