Fort Clinch - Jacksonvile, Florida

After spending two nights here at the Fort Clinch State Park I might just have to say this has been my (Jim's) favorite RV Park location so far on this trip.
I like it when they make us feel "welcome!"

That is saying a lot as we have been on the road since September 1st adding up to about 9 weeks of Wal-Marts and RV Parks.

The reason why I say this is simply location, location!
Bounder says she likes it here!

Whats not to like?

Camped in a campground with only 21 spots and a few of them are empty is one reason but the white sand, waves thundering nearby and the fresh air caps it all off to a stay well worth mentioning.

Last night we had a campfire and sat out for hours as the sun went down and the moon and stars came out. Laying back in a lawn chair with a warm breeze and a million stars is a great way to spend the evening.

We've been running the air conditioning almost 24/7 to keep the humidity down in the motorhome and the temperatures have hovered in the mid 70's throughout the days.

Air conditioning the rolling condo.

After spending several nights in campgrounds that are heavily treed by huge oak trees and tropical forests it was nice to be in one wide open with palm trees and open skies where you can actually see the sun.

Today (Friday, November 8th) the winds have picked up but the skies are wide open blue. The Topper on our living room slide out is taking a beating and its age and condition are showing badly. I was hoping to get the Toppers replaced in Arizona (cheap) but we may not make it that far as the rips are being tested in these winds today!

Yesterday we were heading out in the Honda to get some groceries and we came across a lonely turtle crossing the road. He was about 10 inches in width and he dispelled some myths. When I got out to try and get pictures he ran faster than a Hare! :)

Today we head out on the road again with a quick look at St. Augustine and a destination in Orlando at Moss County Park.

On Sunday evening our daughter Natalie will be arriving with her family (Neal and our grandbabies Asher and Finn). You likely can't hear the excitement in our voices while reading this but let me assure you it is very much there.

We plan on parking the motorhome at a resort we have booked with two condominiums for the week next week and enjoying the family time together! Just hoping the weather stays warm and dry and that the pool is ready for our Clan!

Life is so good!
