Last Day in Naples, Florida - January 6th 2014.

Naples - What a great little city - I would recommend it!

Yesterday (Sunday Jan 5th) we went on another bike ride, about 9 miles!

After losing my 25 lbs we thought if I added a little exercise that I could even lose more weight! So having said that coupled with the fact that biking can be practical and enjoyable too we bought the new bikes!
I consider it an investment in our future!

We really do enjoy getting out on the bikes. It gives us something to do when we get bored and it allows for a new way to see the places we visit. Add to that you can cover a lot of ground.

These bikes are easy to ride, they have a pedal forward design and even if you are not in good shape it makes it very enjoyable. If you suffer from joint issues or arthritis these type of bikes are the way to go!

We rode down to the old downtown part of Naples again. The streets are lined with nice restaurants, cafes, outdoor patios and boutique shopping. Some of the shopping is very high end and one would think they were on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills!

Barb likes to window shop and get ideas and then she duplicates her ideas with our budget in mind. She is quite talented in this regard!

As with most bike trips we stopped for a cool refreshment down here and enjoyed watching the people. I like watching the cars. This place offers both low end models (BMW and Porsche) up to the higher end jalopies like Maserati and Bentley's all cruising by.

We do need to get some lights on our bikes.
Again we got home after dark and no lights! We ride the sidewalks a lot to try and stay safe but that's not very good either. So shopping for some good LED bike lighting is on the list of things to do!

Tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 7th) we will hit the road again.
We will be heading up to Manatee State Park which is just south of Tampa. We will be there 5 or 6 nights.

Our good friends from Nashville (Angela, Brianna & Brian) are flying down on Thursday morning to stay with us at Manatee until Sunday morning. We can not wait to see them, it has been too long!

Here are some photos from yesterday's bike trip.

Note the hundreds of people coming to watch the sun go down on the Gulf!
"No more pictures Jim, I told you!"
"Jim it's time to go!"
And... off we go for the ride home...
