NEW YORK CITY - THE BIG APPLE!

 WE MADE IT!!

We left Norwalk CT at about 10 am this morning and ventured the Freeways to NYC. Arrived at our campground in Jersey City at 1230.
The traffic while heavy at times wasn't as bad as we thought it would be and we took a slower round about way avoiding Tolls, we only had one at $8.25.

It didn't take long to get into the big city as we were so close last night.
In fact after some late night research I found out that we were actually already in what they consider Metro New York!

The freeway was similar to driving on the Deerfoot back home maybe a little heavier. Most drivers were courteous. We decided not to go right through NYC into Jersey to save on headaches and Tolls.

Here are some of the sights we encountered.

Hitting the freeway.

Welcome to New York State (again).
Crossing the Hudson River

Big Steel Bridges

Get ready Jersey  Here we come!
Holland Tunnel on left into NYC and Jersey to the right.
Road construction everywhere!
We only missed two turns requiring an exit from the freeway then turning to try and find the proper one again.
Graffiti everywhere!
The Statue of Liberty from our door step!
We will get better photos up close later on.

Time now to go out touring!

We will update again when we have time.

It might be a few days there is a lot to see here!
