Nashville, Super Bowl & Barb's Birthday!

Since our last post a few things changed.

First of all we weren't able to leave for Nashville last Thursday as planned due to the poor weather. We decided to wait it out one more day and finally we were able to head up north on Friday.

We left the Gulf and drove up into Alabama and then into Tennessee. What a great drive it was.

Just as we were leaving the campground in Florida
we ran into this frisky li'l Deer!
This particular one used to live in Alabama.
The Florida Campground one shouldn't complain!

What made it the best was Barb's awesome company. Add in the XM Satellite radio blaring all the way to my favourite tunes from years gone by. I thought it somewhat fitting to serenade Barb, after all Nashville is the "Music City" right!

Entering the great state of Alabama!

They like us coming there and are friendly folk too!

The purpose for our trip was to visit some friends we have. They live outside of town in an area called Readyville.
If you can't find that on the map then try Murfreesboro (SE side of Nashville).

This was my 4th visit there over the years, you must check out Tennessee - it is one beautiful place!

We stayed at our friend's home which is on a nice piece of land just outside of town. It is so peaceful and quiet there I like to just walk around and think about the history of the area and the Pioneers who had lived there before.
Angela & Brian's home - Now this is country!
I love it here!

Here's an old Tennessee home out in the woods.
Imagine the stories these walls hold...

Birds, Coons, Rattlers and many more critters hide in these woods.
All part of Brian's "Holler."

A little time in Tennessee is sure to
put a smile on anyone's face!

Amongst several other things we also celebrated Barb's Birthday on Sunday evening along with a couple of their family members one of which was born the same day as Barb but a few decades..
I mean years later.

We also had a Super Bowl Party on Sunday. Go Sea Hawks!
What a great time!

As with all great visits the fun ended too soon and we awoke on Monday (yesterday morning) having to hit the road to get back home to the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Thanks Angela, Brian & family we will miss you all!

On the way back south we ventured a different route.
Going over near Chattanooga TN, cutting down through a corner of Georgia and then into Alabama.

One of Alabama's great peanuts.

Once into Alabama we ventured off the freeway and went into the back country driving the curvy roads of the Alabama most never see. If I didn't mention it before it's another beautiful state.

At a Alabama Rest Stop.
PS: Don't bring your guns in here...!

Both Alabama and Tennessee are heavily treed & very scenic.
I would recommend the visit!

In the back country of Alabama
One Stop Shopping!
Chainsaws, Jewelry and the ever important pair...
Hot Dogs with a li'l Wine!
We got home about 830pm last night (Feb 3rd).
We had left "Bounder" the motor home in a State Park and all was in good shape. In fact we are very happy to say the temperatures have improved vastly!

Happy Trails Y'all!
