GRASSEY KEY Nov. 27 to Dec. 3rd.

As one would imagine yes, this is one of the Keys down in Florida.
I didn't see a lot of grass here though.

As mentioned before we were "winging it" being down here on the Keys without having made prior reservations. Some told us that without making them close to a year ahead of time... don't even bother.

Another said they wouldn't even venture down without reservations.

As you know us, we are a bit of the adventurous type, well maybe for our age hahaha. What this meant was we wanted to see the Keys and we were going to do it.... no matter what!

Barb is one of the best people I have ever known for her talents of research and finding good things on the internet. Our hope was to find cancellations. Barb would check daily.

So as it goes she was able to find us another campsite to stay at. Without having made our reservations we had to move to three (3) different campgrounds here down on the Keys but it was all worth it.
In fact I would recommend it.

Grassy Key RV Resort is a privately owned resort, very nicely situated on the Gulf side of the Keys. Not big, very clean, well looked after with laundry and even a swimming pool!

LONGEST STAY SO FAR!
So far on this trip this is the longest that we have camped anywhere.
We booked a full week whoo hoo!

THANKSGIVING.
As we are Canadian we had already celebrated our Canadian Thanksgiving back in October. As we are living in the US for the winter months each year it is only fitting that we celebrate it with our American friends each year too. Besides I love turkey!

The resort provided a fantastic Thanksgiving complete with deep fried turkey and all the fixings! We each brought a plate to make it a fun pot-luck dinner and wow what a feast we all had. We have plenty to be thankful for!

Unique Palms in the well maintained Grassy Keys Resort!
The view towards the Gulf of Mexico from our patio.
Guess what this is?
Do you like Palm Trees & nice sand?
The blue & white Airstream motor home has an upper patio!
Click a button and it all rises up for even better views.
This would be perfect at a NASCAR race!
One of our favorite things - is a nice sunset.
Orange skies and palm trees make it so beautiful!

THE CAMP MASCOT.
I will call him Juan.
This Iguana (along with others) was the so-called camp mascot as far as I am concerned. He added a little flavor to the place and made it so interesting to watch him. His colors were bright. I really enjoyed our time together.

When we first spotted Juan he was suntanning on a rock.
Juan had a little friend near by but we didn't have a name for him...

On another day he was more happy to be the center of attention.
He was wondering what I was doing?
Quite calm and fairly friendly at about 5 feet.
Having some grass for lunch.
Juan is somewhere over 3 and a half feet long
I would say he weighed 20 lbs or so.
He will miss us I am sure!

Oh and one of my favorite things...  Barb's home-made artisan style bread!

ROBBIE'S RESTAURANT

A great place to stop for some good food right on the water.

Robbie's Marina, Kayak Rentals, Sport Fishing and more.
A mini Flea Market with touristy stuff
to buy too.
We love eating outdoors on patios and at Marinas.
Man... am I hungry!
The view from our seats - can't be beat if you love the water!
For a small fee you can go on the dock and see or feed the Tarpon too!
As Christmas is fast approaching...
A RV Christmas card for you!
PS: The white stuff on the ground is the sand here!
